Dewey Bryant and Southwest Bank FBI Investigation and Fraud Lawsuit Continues

As reported yesterday in the Lone Star Voice, the investigation and fraud lawsuit against Mayoral Candidate Dewey Bryant and Southwest Bank continues. Recent mailers by the Bryant campaign have attempted to dismiss both the $13,000,000 fraud lawsuit and the ongoing FBI investigation claiming that Southwest Bank was a victim and not a perpetrator of these crimes. However, as detailed in the Lone Star Voice investigative report this is far from the truth as the FBI investigation has not exonerated Dewey Bryant nor his bank from wrongdoing, and the civil bank fraud case continues to move forward.

Candidate Bryant also attempts to disparage his opponent, Javier Joven, claiming that Joven has made false claims about the case when in fact the only statement made by the Joven campaign was one simple statement of fact that Dewey Bryant and his bank were being sued in the $13,000,000 bank fraud lawsuit. We agree with Dewey’s mailer that proclaims “Honesty is the most important thing in an elected leader. Without honesty, you have nothing” and that’s why we’ve endorsed Javier Joven for mayor. Dewey’s lack of honesty and transparency has been evidence for his past eight years on our city council and his attempts to lie and misdirect attention from the ongoing fraud lawsuit and FBI investigation proves that he is being far from honest.

There are only a few days left to early vote and we encourage all Odessans who know that we need change to vote for Javier Joven, Denise Swanner, and Mark Matta and tell Dewey and David it’s time to go.
