I CALL B.S. ON THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION

The Social Security Office located at 2015 E 37th St in Odessa, TX is looking more like a ghost town than a Federal Agency. They claim to be protecting the public and remain closed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic since March 17, 2020. If you call the number posted on the door a recorded message states that they are taking these measures in an effort to protect the people they serve and their employees. To this I would say, “Are we still paying them?” This is not only unacceptable but it is utterly ridiculous. Our schools, grocery stores, court houses, restaurants, malls and well, the entire country is open and the Social Security Office is allowed to be closed indefinitely?  I spoke to a man who pulled into the parking lot while I was there taking this photo. He stated that he had been trying to make changes to his social security card for more than 5-months. He had been unsuccessful at getting and in person appointment and decided to check the notes on the door for updates. Exactly how long do they plan to be closed?  This is outrageous and people need to speak up.  Calling the social security office directly has done no good so please take a few minutes to go to the Office of Inspector General and click on Report other Fraud, Waste and Abuse and file a complaint about our local offices not being open.  Copy and paste this link in your search bar.                     https://oig.ssa.gov/
