No matter what your beliefs are on the mask mandate this was inappropriate and disrespectful for an elected official to post on their page. Mayor Turner put forth a mask mandate for Odessa on June 16th and posted this on his Mayoral page in the first week of July. Several community members expressed outrage, disgust, and sympathy for those suffering from the virus, yet our Mayor let the post stand. It was there as recently as late October. The death rate at the time of his post was 130,000. It has now surged to more than 200,000. His page is currently not active, understandably.
